Best Outdoor Bar in Brooklyn: Habana Outpost!
It's always packed with an odd bunch and it's 
loud and colorful and always entertaining. And 
there's a frozen margarita machine which is 
basically a slurpee machine but with alcohol so 
you really don't need another reason.


Favorite summer activity: Going to Coney Island, which is possibly my favorite place in Brooklyn year-round, but in the summertime it's the best
to just lay out on the sand and buy mangos on a stick from the vendors who walk back and forth on the beach.

Summer staple: My heart sunglasses! And a long swingy skirt to wear with tiny little summer tops.

What's on your ipod for summer: Brian Jonestown Massacre, because summertime is perfect for shoegaze, and of course all my 90's favorites
like Blind Melon and Violent Femmes.

How you're staying cool: Buying a massive kiddie pool for my patio.

Summertime Cocktail: Grapefruit juice and tequila. Drink with a bendy straw.

Looking forward to: Going to Panama at the end of the month and seeing BJM at Webster Hall.

Best outdoor bar in Brooklyn: Crown Victoria in Williamsburg. They have a HUGE outdoor area filled with picnic tables and bocce ball. Every time I go there I feel like I'm at a family picnic (in a good way).

Favorite summer activity: Spending time on my rooftop or at any park with a great view of the city (my favorite is East River State Park). I just love being outside and soaking up every ounce of Vitamin D that I can!

Summer staple: Nicole Miller sherbert striped dress! The colors are great and there's something about that dress that just makes me feel amazing. Also my Ray Bans, I never go anywhere without them.

What is on your Ipod for summer: All I have been listening to is Lana Del Ray. I also can't get enough old-school Mariah Carey. Her songs just scream "summer!"

How you are staying cool: Shopping! There's no better way to beat the heat than wasting time in your favorite store and getting some sweet new summer dresses.

Summer cocktail:The Boozy Arnold Palmer. Sweet, fun, refreshing, and perfect for summertime.

Looking forward too: The Bushwick Block Party this weekend (7/28). Live music, friends, and food...nothing gets better than that!

SUMMER STYLES WITH THE CREW @ NEDA

Best outdoor bar in Brooklyn: My latest find is No Name Bar in Greenpoint because it feels like you are very secluded from the rest of the world and there is shade from the trees outside so you can attempt to stay cool.

Favorite summer activity: I am a sucker for the free outdoor movies -- you can pack wine and food and set up quite the picnic while watching a movie on the big screen. The best is the Movies With A View in Dumbo -- you are right by the water and it is an incredible view. Otherwise the best activity is heading back to my hometown in Vermont for a real country summer experience.

Summer staple: Flowy dresses with full skirts! Right now my favorite is a brown/black/white tie dye print dress by Hazel that has black lace detail on the shoulders. I also am wearing out my red Envi dress that has a scribbled houndstooth print on the bottom half.

What is on your Ipod for summer: Lana Del Ray, Fleetwood Mac and Florence and the Machine. I also randomly got sucked into this weird phase of 90's cheesy glam metal bands and I can't get enough. Basically all the music you would sing to at karaoke.

How you are staying cool: I may be failing at this but I do see more movies in the summer for the a/c! I loved Moonrise Kingdom and would definitely recommend it to anyone. I am very excited for the last Batman movie to come out and I plan on seeing 'Savages.'

Summer cocktail: Margarita on the rocks, no salt!

Looking forward too: The Muppet Sing-A-long at Prospect Park for Celebrate Brooklyn! at the end of the month. Also, in August I will be visiting the west coast for a friend's wedding so that will be an adventure!
